Building a Virtual Biome





Following the theme of natural world ecologies, this proposed real time environment seeks to deliver an immersive exploration of a futuristic research base located in the South Pole. As players are transported to this unnatural landscape, the designed 3D space, textures, sound design and particle effects support another to emulate a believable and cohesive experience of environmental storytelling.

The South Pole is an extreme ecological environment where its arid atmosphere, frozen temperatures and high altitude threatens life at all scales. At the same time, it is inherently instilled with a history of heroic exploration expeditions and scientific discovery, presenting an alluring combination of danger and wonder to be recreated in the virtual world.
